Obama administration sues Florida for purging non-citizens from voter rolls

From Breitbart. (H/T Dr. G)

Excerpt:

The US Department of Justice announced Monday it will sue Florida to stop the state from purging ineligible voters from its voter rolls. The DOJ statement came after Florida filed suit against the Department of Homeland Security for failing to cooperate with efforts to clean up the state’s voter registration records.

A preliminary comparison between drivers license records and voter registration has flagged as many as 182,000 registered voters who may not be US citizens.  Florida officials sought access to the DHS immigration database (SAVE) to verify their matches but DHS has refused to respond to the state’s requests.

At least 141 non-citizens have been found on the voter rolls and 47 on this list have cast ballots in previous elections. More than 500 on the list have been identified as citizens and lawful voters.

Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner released a statement after filing the suit in Washington DC:

For nearly a year, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has failed to meet its legal obligation to provide us the information necessary to identify and remove ineligible voters from Florida’s voter rolls… We can’t let the federal government delay our efforts to uphold the integrity of Florida elections any longer. We’ve filed a lawsuit to ensure the law is carried out and we are able to meet our obligation to keep the voter rolls accurate and current.

Let this be a lesson to conservatives. The first thing you do when you get power is pass a voter identification law. Some form of state-issued photo ID that can be checked in a database, and purple ink on the fingers after voting. Democrats love to cheat in elections, and they are quite open about their desire to do so.

Top North Carolina Democrat Party official named in same-sex sexual harassment claim

From the Daily Caller. (H/T Gateway Pundit)

Excerpt:

A top North Carolina Democratic Party official has reportedly been identified as the accused perpetrator in a sexual harassment claim made by a former staffer.

Jay Parmley, North Carolina’s Democratic Party executive director, has been accused of sexual harassment by Adriadn Ortega, a former communications staffer for the state party, according to a report by the J.W.P. Civitas Institute.

An email chain The Daily Caller previously obtained didn’t name the alleged perpetrator or the victim, but confirmed the existence of the alleged sexual harassment, a financial settlement paid to the victim and that Parmley and the victim had signed non-disclosure agreements. Civitas has since reported the names of those involved.

On his Twitter account, Parmley describes himself as an “all around good guy and a Democrat!”

North Carolina Democratic Party spokesman Walton Robinson has not responded to multiple requests for comment.

At least one Democratic Party official in North Carolina revealed apparent concerns about the same-sex nature of the allegations going public, which could pose a political conflict with the party’s attempts at defeating an anti-gay-marriage ballot amendment.

In an email to state Democratic Party chairman David Parker, North Carolina Democratic statehouse candidate Watt Jones said this sexual harassment looks bad for Democrats.

“With a Democratic Party which is suppose [sic] to be fighting to defeat Amendment One [which describes marriage as between one man and one woman] on the May 8 ballot, yet we have this in Goodwin House?,” Jones said. “How does that look?”

Parmley, the accused harasser according to the Civitas report,  is still employed by the Democratic Party.

I don’t think this will matter much to Democrat voters, who are OK with stuff like this. It might hurt their standing with some independents. This is the real Democrat Party on display though. These are the people who undermine marriage with their no-fault divorce laws, their sex education indoctrination in public schools, their subsidies for single mothers by choice, their support for gay marriage and their insistence on taxpayer-funded abortion. They oppose traditional marriage and the traditional family.  The Democrat Party motto: “If it feels good, do it. Just don’t get caught!”

Atlanta public schools caught helping students to cheat on standardized tests

Beverly Hall and Atlanta public schools

Beverly Hall and Atlanta public schools

From the liberal Atlanta Journal-Constitution, news of a cover-up of “systemic” cheating in the Atlanta public schools. (H/T Reason to Stand)

Excerpt:

State investigators have uncovered a decade of systemic cheating in the Atlanta Public Schools and conclude that Superintendent Beverly Hall knew or should have known about it, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has learned.

In a report that Gov. Nathan Deal planned to release today, the investigators name nearly 180 educators, including more than three dozen principals, as participants in cheating on state curriculum tests, officials said over the weekend. The investigators obtained scores of confessions.

The findings suggest the national accolades that Hall and the school system have collected — and the much-vaunted academic progress for which she claimed credit — were based on falsehoods. Raising test scores apparently became a higher priority than conducting the district’s business in an ethical manner.

[...]The report’s release culminates more than two years of inquiries into Atlanta’s huge gains on the state-mandated Criterion-Referenced Competency Test in 2009. An AJC analysis first detected statistically improbable increases in test scores at two Atlanta schools in 2008. The following year, the AJC published another analysis that found suspicious score changes on the 2009 CRCT at a dozen Atlanta schools. The newspaper’s reporting ultimately led to the state investigation that is being released today. The investigators’ report, officials said, depicts a culture that rewarded cheaters, punished whistle-blowers and covered up improprieties. Strongly contradicting denials of cheating and other irregularities by Hall and other top district executives, the report describes organized wrongdoing that robbed tens of thousands of children — many of whom came from disadvantaged backgrounds and struggled in school — of an honest appraisal of their abilities.

At the same time, the document apparently provides a scathing assessment of the school system’s handling of the scandal, accusing district leaders of hampering the special investigators’ efforts to uncover the truth. The investigators reportedly accuse Hall and her top aides of refusing to take responsibility for the district’s problems.

The report also will detail potentially criminal acts by district officials, the AJC has learned.

In an effort to maintain Hall’s high profile in national education circles, the superintendent and her top aides reportedly tried to hide unflattering information as far back as 2006. District officials illegally altered documents related to the test and withheld material that should have been released under the state’s Open Records Act, the report is expected to say.

There is a possibility of criminal charges, and I do hope that this woman and all responsible spend at least a few years in jail.

We need to get taxpayer money out of the public school system, and back into the hands of parents, through a federal voucher system. Let the parents decide which school is best for their children. Let them buy education the same way that they buy things from other retailers. Choice and competition. Lower price and higher quality. If they don’t like the results that public schools provide, then let them take their money to a private school – or use the money to homeschool.

Notice that the largest teacher union, the National Education Association (NEA) has endorsed Obama. Democrats protect the failings of the education establishment, in exchange for votes and political activism. The faster we vote the Democrats out, the faster education in this country will improve.

Tea Party uncovers massive voter fraud in Houston

Story from Fox News. (H/T The Blog Prof, Gateway Pundit)

Excerpt:

When Catherine Engelbrecht and her friends sat down and started talking politics several years ago, they soon agreed that talking wasn’t enough. They wanted to do more. So when the 2008 election came around, “about 50” of her friends volunteered to work at Houston’s polling places.

“What we saw shocked us,” she said. “There was no one checking IDs, judges would vote for people that asked for help. It was fraud, and we watched like deer in the headlights.”

Their shared experience, she says, created “True the Vote,” a citizen-based grassroots organization that began collecting publicly available voting data to prove that what they saw in their day at the polls was, indeed, happening — and that it was happening everywhere.

“It was a true Tea Party moment,” she remembers.

Like most voter watchdog groups, she said, her group started small. They decided to investigate voting fraud in general, not just at the polling places, and at first they weren’t even sure what to look for — and where to look for it.

“The first thing we started to do was look at houses with more than six voters in them” Engelbrecht said, because those houses were the most likely to have fraudulent registrations attached to them. “Most voting districts had 1,800 if they were Republican and 2,400 of these houses if they were Democratic . . .

“But we came across one with 24,000, and that was where we started looking.”

Now even the Miss USA pageant is decided by political correctness

Michelle Malkin lists the errors made by the winner of the pageant.

Excerpt:

She nearly tripped over her gown.

She called birth control a “controlled substance.”

She argued that contraceptives should be covered by health insurers because they are “expensive” — and then said you could get them for “free” from your OB/GYN’s office.

But she is a Muslim, and an Arab-American, and she expressed support for taxpayer-funded birth control, so she won.

More from Michelle:

Does she even comprehend the concept of insurance? The purpose of insurance isn’t to cover every last medical expense. It’s supposed to cover events that are beyond your control. Should auto insurers now cover oil changes and satellite radio installations? I mean, hey, they’re “expensive,” too!

Yes, if something is totally optional, based on individual priorities and choices, but it is “expensive”, then people should not have to pay for it themselves. Someone else should pay, because it’s expensive. Perhaps a working husband, who doesn’t really need the money he earns anyway, should have to pay for it. After all, he needs to help people who freely choose to engage in risky behaviors. Especially if he is pro-life, because then he can pay for abortions that sometimes result from using birth control pills.

UPDATE: In 2007, she won a pole-dancing contest. There she is, your ideal…

UPDATE: Her family is Linked to the terrorist group Hezbollah???

Who should have won?

So who should have won, if politics were set aside?

Miss Oklahoma Morgan Elizabeth Woolard finished first runner-up to winner Rima Fakih of Michigan, and conspiracy theorists are grumbling that her support of SB 1070 may have cost her the crown in a repeat of last year’s Carrie Prejean controversy.

When “The Office” star Cesar Nunez posed Miss Oklahoma a question about where she stood on Arizona’s SB 1070 Sunday night, the crowd erupted in boos over the intrusion of politics, Fox News reported.

“I’m a huge believer in states’ rights. I think that’s what’s so wonderful about America,” Woolard answered of the law which requires state police to stop and question possible undocumented immigrants. “So I think it’s perfectly fine for Arizona to create that law.”

Woolard added that she is against racial profiling.

There’s your winner: Miss Oklahoma.

After last year, you’d think they would have got some judges who could actually judge the merits of the argument instead of whether the conclusion is politically correct. But you’d be wrong. This is just more of the fascists on the secular left sending a clear message to conservatives – agree with us or we will destroy your career. It’s “Expelled” all over again. When the left is in control, there is no diversity of thought.

Secular leftists cannot handle disagreement and debate, so they silence and suppress those who disagree with them. They don’t want to discuss the merits. They just want to feel good and to be perceived as being good, regardless of the effects of the policies that they advocate. Secular leftists are the only ones who care about race, because they are racists. They are the only ones who care about sex, because they are sexist.

By the way, I have no television, so I did not watch this travesty. If I want to admire a woman, I listen to Jennifer Roback Morse lectures, or watch Michele Bachmann speeches, or read Ann Coulter columns.
